Batman runs to save Barbara, but upon arriving at the scene, he sees her being infected by the fear toxin. Frightened, she takes a gun and shoots herself in the head. Batman drops to his knees. The Joker tries to convince him to let him take over. Alfred tries to bring Bruce back to reality. Batman resists and asks Alfred to locate Cloudburst, while he heads to the GCPD to speak with Ivy, who is immune to fear toxin. Cash says that Gordon has been missing for a while, and Batman informs him of Barbara's death. Batman asks Ivy for help, but she says she has no reason to trust him, who replies that without her help, all plants in Gotham will die. Ivy agrees to help, and says that she created a spore that nullifies Crane's toxin, but that alone could not supply the entire town. They head to the Botanical Garden, where Ivy has taken over a large ancient tree, creating giant flowers to neutralize the toxin. However, she says that with her alone she wouldn't be able to do it. Batman frees the roots to help. The militia starts attacking the plants, but Batman protects them. Batman goes to Panessa Studios, where he talks to Robin about the cure. He doesn't tell the truth about Barbara's death, as Tim was dating her, and that would divert the focus from healing. Alfred informs him that the militia has radar towers jamming the signal to locate Cloudburst, and Batman proceeds to destroy them. Batman faces the Arkham Knight, who says it's not yet time to reveal his identity.
