With Oracle's help, Batman scans the alcoholic vapor from Boles' drink. Following the trail, he arrives near the elevators, where he finds Harley Quinn. She blows up the elevator cable with the expectation of trapping Batman in the lower levels. Using his grappling hook, Batman climbs to the top, where he finds more armed prisoners. Near the Intensive Treatment exit, Batman finds Frank Boles dead, having been betrayed by the Joker, and ending Gordon's trail. Batman arrives at Arkham East, where he discovers that the Batmobile is being attacked by Harley Quinn's henchmen. Next to the Batmobile, Batman finds Gordon's pipe, a gift from his daughter Barbara. Knowing he was left there on purpose, Batman uses tobacco to find the trail again. The trail leads Batman to the Medical Facility, where he finds Harley Quinn and Gordon, but is unable to reach him because of the security barrier, forcing him to find another way through the ceiling. Arriving at the Sanatorium, Batman finds some Blackgate prisoners holding doctors hostage. After defeating them, a medic informs Batman that more prisoners are holding guard Aaron Cash and doctor Penelope Young hostage in other rooms. Batman rushes to save them, facing more prisoners. Back at the Sanatorium, Doctor Young insists on getting her research back. Escorted by Cash, they depart for Arkham Mansion, while Batman resumes following Gordon's tracks through the elevator.
