Batgirl the Series will be a linear anthology series, with Barbara starting as Batgirl, learning the ropes and maturing as she goes, then, when she walks away, and joins the GCPD, the Killing Joke arc happens, but instead of giving up, she becomes Oracle, and the Bat Family introduces Cassandra Cain.
Anyways, Barbara Gordon in this universe is a Stanford student, but the more she looks around, Oakland, LA, San Fransico, she realizes that Gotham isn't the only city in need of help, so this, is going to be a very fresh-faced Batgirl, very green, very DIY, and let's just say, she was going to need more than a genius IQ, a photographic memory, and gymnastics to fight crime.
