Anthony Dwane Mackie (born September 23, 1978) is an American actor. He gained wide recognition for portraying Sam Wilson / Falcon / Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with the film Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and headlining the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) and its continuation film Captain America: Brave New World (2025). Mackie made his film debut in 8 Mile (2002), and earned critical recognition for his roles in Brother to Brother (2004), which garnered him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor, and The Hurt Locker (2008), which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the AAFCA Awards. He also played Tupac Shakur in Notorious (2009) and Martin Luther King Jr. in the HBO film All the Way (2016). On television, Mackie starred as Takeshi Kovacs in the second season of Netflix's Altered Carbon (2020) and currently leads the Peacock series Twisted Metal (2023–present). In theatre, he has performed in Broadway and Off-Broadway adaptations, including Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, A Soldier's Play, and Carl Hancock Rux's Talk, for which he won an Obie Award in 2002. Hi. JMontgomery here. I'm not really active on mycast anymore but I figured I might as well begin explaining some of my choices for my Kang/Secret Wars Saga that I had worked on since the creation of my account. So if you think a certain casting is questionable feel free to peruse the listing and maybe you'll see my reasoning in a description! Also this listing is extremely outdated (especially due to the fact Jonathan Majors was cast as Kang debunking the popular Harley = Kang fan-theory in which my saga was almost single-handedly based upon) so feel free to update it as you see fit. But for the sake of the Harley/Kang storyline, I beg you not to change that. Thanks again, I poured my heart and soul into this for 2 years straight and I couldn't have done it without the support of my fellow comic fans and filmbuffs! It's all for you!!!
