Anthony Dwane Mackie (born September 23, 1978) is an American actor. He gained wide recognition for portraying Sam Wilson / Falcon / Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with the film Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and headlining the Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) and its continuation film Captain America: Brave New World (2025). Mackie made his film debut in 8 Mile (2002), and earned critical recognition for his roles in Brother to Brother (2004), which garnered him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor, and The Hurt Locker (2008), which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the AAFCA Awards. He also played Tupac Shakur in Notorious (2009) and Martin Luther King Jr. in the HBO film All the Way (2016). On television, Mackie starred as Takeshi Kovacs in the second season of Netflix's Altered Carbon (2020) and currently leads the Peacock series Twisted Metal (2023–present). In theatre, he has performed in Broadway and Off-Broadway adaptations, including Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, A Soldier's Play, and Carl Hancock Rux's Talk, for which he won an Obie Award in 2002. Doomsday will will draw influence from Time Runs Out and Avengers vs. X-Men. The multiverse is on the brink of destruction with numerous incursions taking place across the frontier of time. The 616 universe will get caught in an incursion with the 10005 universe, the same universe Monica Rambeau ended up getting stranded in at the end of The Marvels, and the same universe inhabited by Deadpool and the Fox X-Men. To preserve their respective universes, the Avengers and the X-Men go to war with each other.
