Set in the future, an AI computer virus named Ultron has taken over all of the Earth’s networks, created an army of supervillains, and then enslaved all of humanity into worshipping him. In response, an insurgent force rises from the ashes of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” and gathers nine warriors from across the globe who are chosen to become the “Avengers”, consisting of Captain America, Deadpool, Thor, Spider-Man, Hulk, Black Panther, Wasp, Ms. Marvel, and Iron Man. Once assembled, the Avengers decide to start their campaign against Ultron by liberating Earth, their main target, as they are suspicious of why their planet is so heavily guarded by Ultron’s security force called “H.Y.D.R.A.”. The team later gains other members during their campaign; their wisecracking director, Nick Fury, a quartet of siblings known as the Power Pack, and Doctor Strange, a legendary wizard who defeated Ultron to free Salem (during the Salem Witch Trials) centuries ago and was put to sleep in the Sanctum Sanctorum until he is reawakened by the other Avengers.
