Nick Fury assembles Earth’s mightiest heroes—Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye—to stop Loki, who has stolen the Tesseract to open a portal for the Chitauri invasion. Hank Pym joins as a key coordinator of the Avengers Initiative, gruff and openly resentful of the Stark family, holding a long-standing grudge against both Howard and Tony. However, Pym bonds with Steve Rogers over shared values and connects with Tony over their mutual struggles with alcohol and loss. Janet Van Dyne appears in an old film reel, adding emotional depth to Pym's character. Bruce Banner gains control over the Hulk, learning to “aim” his transformations, though they still take a physical and emotional toll. Loki’s descent into madness, worsened by the Mind Stone, leaves him mentally and physically scarred. In the final battle in New York, Tony nearly dies redirecting a nuclear missile through the portal. After falling back to Earth, Thor uses Mjolnir as a defibrillator to revive him. Cameos include Peter Parker saving civilians and Reed Richards activating a defensive grid around the Baxter Building. Post Credits: Thanos prepares his next move, foreshadowing cosmic-scale battles to come.
