Roderick Kingsley is the man in Norman Osborn's will that will inherit the company, his home, and his belongings should Harry depart early. (And he did). But he was not doing well with keeping the company alive with thieves breaking in and stealing their technology. Kingsley then discovered Osborn's lair where all his pumpkin bombs, glider prototypes, helmet designs, and even boatloads of the performance enhancers that have created the Green Goblin. He tried perfecting it, trying to make sure it wouldn't turn anyone into a Goblin. But he actually upgraded it, making him more maniacal than Norman's Goblin! With a new design to the suit, Hobgoblin was born.
