Attack of Shadows is a 2026 American epic science fiction action film written and directed by James Cameron, based on the novel of the same name by Jason Anspach and Nick Cole. It is a sequel to Kill Team, the fourth installment in the Galaxy's Edge film series and the only film in the series not to feature Vin Diesel's character Cohen Chhun. The film stars Colin Farrell, Lucas Black, Peter Weller, Naomie Harris, Keegan-Michael Key, and James McAvoy. Attack of Shadows was released on August 19th, 2026, 7 months after Kill Team; the film received mixed reviews, with praise for the visual effects, action sequences, tone, cinematography, musical score, and Farrell's performance but with criticism to the plot, pacing, characters, and Cameron's screenplay and direction. The film was a box-office bomb, grossing $179.56 million against a budget of $368 million, and marketing costs between $160 million and $200 million. A concluding sequel entitled Legionnaire: Legends Never Die was released back-to-back months later.
