Two Gaulish warriors, Asterix and Obelix, accompany their druid friend Getafix to Egypt when an old friend of Getafix's tells him that he must build a palace for Queen Cleopatra to win a bet against Julius Caesar, or else he will be fed to the crocodiles. A grand odyssey into the heart of Egypt takes place, but a jealous rival architect as well as Caesar's forces plan to stop them.
