After committing a shooting at a University, Jason Nowak is sent to prison and later to Abstergo's custody, where he is taken alongside other "criminals" as lab rats into the Animus, there he learns about the conflict between the Assassins and Templars with the help of a Viking Berserker named Björn who was an ally of the Hidden Ones, the predecessors of the Assassins.
