For hundreds of years, Atlantis remained hidden from the rest of the world since it sank to the bottom of the sea until its new king arrived: Arthur Curry, the cross between an Atlantean and a Human who became the king of the Seven Seas and he has secretly helped his two worlds from all threats like when he stopped Captain Hyde's pirates where only his son David managed to survive and witness the protector of the sea. Now Arthur who is known as Aquaman wants to re-unite the two worlds to which he belongs. Stephen Shin has helped Arthur with everything necessary for Atlantis to be seen as a nation again in the eyes of the Earth by creating an audience with the UN, David Hyde now known as Black Manta wants to show the true dangers of the ocean as the Atlanteans since thanks to Aquaman he lost everything, Black Manta sends his new group of pirates known as N.E.M.O. with which he takes Stephen Shin as a prisoner to help him show the world all the risks of Atlantis or if he does not end his life and that of his family, so Stephen under threat is taken to the UN meeting where Stephen in As he was going to speak ill of the Atlanteans, he asks Arthur to protect his family and continues with the original presentation because he would not spoil the effort of years of investigation and he knew that Arthur would keep his word so David kills Stephen shot away and falls in front of the UN members.
