A young boy named John Shaw’s X-Gene kicks in and causes him to form venomous spurs on the back of his feet, not unlike the Platypus. This leads him to don a suit resembling the animal and using this power for his own purposes of fighting evil. He soon discovers the devious plot of The Monkey Fist Cult that involves ridding corruption via blowing up the city through the sewers.
