Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy is a British-American actress who first gained recognition for her role as Thomasin in the 2015 horror film The Witch. Born in Miami and raised in London and Buenos Aires, Taylor-Joy studied ballet as a child and modeled before pursuing acting. She left school at 16 to focus on her acting career. Taylor-Joy has also appeared in the Netflix series The Queen's Gambit and the films Split and The Menu
