The Assassins Brotherhood, also known as the Assassin Order and originally as the Hidden Ones is a secret global peacekeeping organization dedicated to protecting humanity from abuses of power, coercive rule, and injustice. As the etymology of the term assassin, their traditional methods have revolved around stealth operations, selective violence, and the assassination of those deemed to be perpetrators of oppression under the belief that this minimizes collateral damage in accordance with their absolute prohibition against harming innocent lives throughout the entirety of recorded human history against the Templar Order. Abstergo Industries and the modern Templar Order use their massive media influence to rewrite history, framing the Assassin Brotherhood as a global terrorist network to justify their own authoritarian control which claimed 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by Assassin extremists in 2001, as the Templar agents tried and failed to stop the Assassin hijackers following the event, as was used as a geopolitical catalyst to launch a "Global War on Terror" against both real-world extremist groups and the Brotherhood. In 2002, the Guantanamo Bay detention camp was established with Abstergo backing to interrogate and hold captured Assassins alongside political prisoners. During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Abstergo exploited the chaos of the war to expand corporate surveillance in Ukraine, while local Russian Assassin cells fight to protect regional autonomy from Templar-backed political factions. As the Gaza War raged on after 7 October 2023, the Templars use the deep-rooted geopolitical instability to test advanced crowd-control technologies, while the Brotherhood works underground to prevent either side from deploying ancient Pieces of Eden. Throughout these recent conflicts, Abstergo systematically labels any rebellious or anti-establishment actions by the Assassins as acts of regional terrorism to keep the public safe from harm or the threat of violence.

The new announcement of Ubisoft games which is widely considered in the Grand Theft Auto clone are set in real-life cities worldwide from New York City to London and then from Paris to Rio de Janeiro. Each game in the new franchise of Ubisoft centres on different respective protagonist who attempts to rise through either the criminal underworld as well as the Assassins Brotherhood due to various motives or several police department bureaus which follows up, leads, and interrogate suspects and witnesses through urban centers, often accompanying themes of betrayal like the new open-world games to play as anyone or protagonists. Each universe is considered separate with only background characters shared between them using Unreal Engine 5 of which the Ubisoft game series allows the player to take on the role of a criminal in the big cities globally especially in Cape Town, Sydney or any other places around the world, typically an individual who ends up rising through the ranks of organised crime, the brotherhood or to join police bureau for their duties through the course of the game. It will set through a new modern day Templar corporation of Abstergo with the same universe as the Assassin's Creed games with real life events around the world.
