James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a World War II veteran and Steve Rogers' aka Captain Ameirca best friend since childhood. During one mission, Barnes was injected with HYDRA's Super Soldier Serum. He had an accident while fighting Armin Zola and HYDRA and was then presumed dead. However, Barnes was found by the Soviets and HYDRA and made the Winter Soldier by them. Over the next 50 years, he would eliminate anyone who posed a threat to HYDRA. So also the king of Wakanda T'Chaka, who had discovered secret quarters of HYDRA in his country. However, HYDRA knew nothing of the Black Panther, which is why the assassination attempt failed. SIGN. became aware of HYDRA and is now opposing her.
