Blackie Drago was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent turned mercenary who obtained his high-tech flight suit from inventor Elijah Stern. His conflict with Spiderman began when the hero defeated him during an assassination attempt against Donald Roxxon, sending him to the Triskelion prison. Later, Drago agreed to join the Sinister Six after making a deal with The Gentleman, who offered him enhanced technology and the opportunity to exact revenge.
