Eddie,an investigative journalist and friend of Peter's in adulthood,discovers "V-25,"a synthetic serum originally designed for cellular regeneration,while delving into his father's files (his father was Richard Parker's colleague at Oscorp).Upon coming into contact with this substance to cure a degenerative disease,Eddie transforms into Venom,a being that requires consuming biomass to survive.His conflict with Peter stems from a sense of betrayal, as he feels Spiderman hid the truth about his parents' experiments.He agrees to join the Sinister Six under the promise from The Gentleman to permanently stabilize his condition.
