Lane is the best friend/ love interest of Eddie, and a friend/influence on Elsa-whether good or bad influence depends on the day. She is protective of her friends, and very smart, but pretends not to care about much. She seems to know when anyone is hiding something, including when Eddie predicts his own death. She's the one to crack jokes at his funeral, but cry when reading his handwritten will. That's just how she grieves, I guess.
