Philip Lombard is a lionhearted, swaggering military man who sought his fortune in Africa years ago. Although he receives an unusual invitation to Indian Island, just like everyone else, Philip alone packs a loaded revolver, sending the other guests into an uproar when they discover it. Furthermore, quite unlike the others, he cheerfully admits the the crime that the recording accuses him of...abandoning twenty-one African natives to their death. The guests are left wondering: does this make him the most likely suspect, or the least likely?
