After another comfortable three seasons, Matthew Modine decided to leave the role of the Doctor. Now with a new producer, there was an ultimate change-up: the Doctor would become a woman. With this, many defenders and detractors ranging from genuine criticism to blind love/hate. However, they would stick to their guns, and Elizabeth Moss would be cast as The Doctor.
