First Appearance: 1996 TV Movie. Jeff Goldblum would take on the role of the Eighth Doctor for the TV Movie in 1996, which was intended to be a reboot for the series, helmed by 20th Century Fox. The reboot failed, meaning Goldblum only got one appearance as the Doctor, until 2013 where he got a minisode showing his regeneration into the War Doctor in the lead up to the Time War, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations. The Eighth Doctor was a more romantic take on the character, which would set a precedent for the incarnations to come in the 2005 reboot.
