Harry Floyd, a handsome dance teacher who decides to take part in a prestigious tango competition in Argentina. His passion for dancing makes him anxious to show off his skills and win a prize. When he arrives at the venue, however, he is surprised to learn that his dance partner has become Juana, an inexperienced dancer who has deceived the committee by claiming to be far more skilled than she actually is. Juana, fascinated by the prize money, seeks a chance for a better life, but discovers that in dancing you can't cheat. Harry, initially angry and disappointed, however, cannot resist Juana's charms. Her determination and willingness to learn arouse his sympathy. Through five months of intensive training, full of trial and error, a deeper feeling develops between the dancers. Harry teaches Juana not only the steps of the tango, but also what passion and devotion mean. Juana, in turn, opens new perspectives for Harry, teaching him that life is not only about dancing, but also about emotions and risks. As they approach the competition, their relationship goes through various stages - from tension, to joy, to moments of doubt. Finally, on stage, during the performance, they both realize that their feelings go beyond dancing.
