Fogarty's former roommate from Lawrence, Massachusetts. Inspired from John Alan "Whit" Whitaker. Whitaker, who took sentimental jewelry from Rachel as she waited to die, was originally sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In 2013, he was granted a retrial. Three years later, he was convicted of 1st-degree murder again and given a second life sentence without the possibility of parole. He was 22 years old at the time of the crime.
