Fan Casting Sir Reginald Hargreeves in Alfonso Cuarón's The Umbrella Academy

A world-renowned scientist, Olympic fencer, and extraterrestrial in disguise, Hargreeves adopted seven superpowered children solely to mold them into a team that could "save the world." Cold, aloof, and emotionally abusive, he viewed his children as experiments rather than family, assigning them numbers instead of names. His death reunites the estranged siblings—but his secrets, particularly regarding Vanya's true power, prove to be the catalyst for the apocalypse itself.
