Jafar, the Grand Vizier of the Sultan of the city of Agrabah, tries to access the Cave of Wonders, since inside there is an oil lamp containing a genie. However, he and his parrot Iago cannot enter and need Aladdin to be able to enter the cave. At the same time, Jasmine, the Sultan's daughter, flees the palace because she disagrees with her obligation to marry. It is there that she meets the young stray, Aladdin, and his monkey Abu, but both are captured by the vizier. However, Jafar decides to free Aladdin and Abu because he needs them to enter the Cave of Wonders. When they arrive there, they find a magic carpet and later discover the lamp, until the cave begins to collapse after Abu's attempt to steal a jewel. At that moment, they almost manage to get out but before leaving Jafar asks for the lanpara and Aladdin gives it to him and asks for help to get out and Jafar kicks him but without realizing it Abu stole the lanpara. Thus Aladdin, Abu and the carpet do not manage to escape, when the protagonist unconsciously rubs the lamp and the Genie appears. He is willing to grant Aladdin three wishes, although Aladdin manages to trick him into getting them out of the place without spending any. After leaving, he promises that one will be to free him, but in the meantime he asks to be turned into a prince to try to get Jasmine to notice him.
