Wendy P. Mocke is a Papua New Guinean interdisciplinary artist, playwright, and actor who has become a significant voice in Australian theatre and television. She was born in Papua New Guinea and moved to Cairns, Australia, at the age of 12. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), she has gained recognition for her roles in series such as Troppo, The Code, and Neighbors, and for her work as a creator and writer of the 2024 ABC comedy series Bad Ancestors. In 2025, she expanded her screen credits with a role in the crime drama Black Snow. Beyond acting, Mocke is a celebrated playwright and visual artist whose work—including the exhibition m e r i—focuses on exploring Melanesian stories and unpacking the complexities of Black Pacific Islander identity.
