A prodigious swordsman despite his youth, Okita's life was cut short due to tuberculosis, leaving him deeply ashamed of having been unable to fight to his fullest; something he intends to correct while fighting for humanity. He is the "Shinsengumi 1st Unit Captain" (新撰組一番隊組長, Shinsengumi Ichibantai Kumichō). He is one of, if not, the best swordsman of the Shinsengumi and is known as the ultimate "Manslayer" (人斬り, Hitokiri) among all of Humanity. Among the Einherjar, he's the tenth to fight in Ragnarök, going against Susano'o no Mikoto. Possessing a dreadful murderous instinct, Souji has been mentioned to be a "Demon Child" (鬼子, Oniko) and in contrast to Susano'o, who's known as a "Sword God," Souji has also been dubbed a "Sword Demon" (剣鬼, Kenki)
