Eight years after the outbreak in Atlanta, Thomas, Bill and Philippe live in the Washington quarantine zone. Thomas, who is now part of the military volunteers, is chosen for a mission and heads with his team to New York to reach an AFEPRA center with a special load. In the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York, the team is surprised by a huge horde of Sprinters and Thomas is abandoned by his team and family. Trying to survive the horde, he is rescued and then captured by a group of militarized rebels.
