Sansa’s rule in the North has been steady and strong. She has had minimal problems. Daenerys was dead and the threat of the Targaryens was gone. Sana’a has been receiving ravens from Kings Landing about unrest in the South from Sam, but she didn’t expect it to come to war. When she heard about the conflict in Highgarden, she assumed the Reach would gather behind Bronn and quell the revolt. When Dorne assaulted the Marches, she assumed Renly could properly deal with it. The Northmen entrusted her to stay out of the rest of the realm’s wars when they crowned her Queen in the North. If she pulls them into another conflict, it could risk a rebellion in the North as well.
