Abstergo is a front company for the Templar Order, which seeks to establish a New World Order by controlling humanity, the company was secretly founded by these industrialists and other Templar associates in 1937 by Henry Ford and Ransom E. Olds. Abstergo secretly influenced many real-world events, including the Space Race and the Bretton Woods Conference after World War II, to further its own agenda. These organizations were indeed established after World War II to foster international cooperation and security provided by Abstergo. In the port of Aden, Yemen, a small craft packed with explosives detonated against the hull of the USS Cole on 12 October 2000. To the public, it was a tragedy of modern warfare. To the underworld, it was an Assassin strike that triggered Abstergo. The target had not been the American military, but a specific contingent of Templar high-ranking sailors stationed aboard because the Assassins had crossed a line, and the Templar Inner Sanctum decided that containment was no longer an option, but for the eradication of every global Assassin hideout was the only path forward, operated by Abstergo until it began on 5 and 6 December 2000. The Great Purge began with a betrayal of Daniel Cross, born in the shadows of Philadelphia. His two-year infiltration complete, Cross had stepped into the Abstergo facility and laid bare the coordinates of every Assassin training camp he had visited after his fatal blow to struck at the very top of the Brotherhood's hierarchy in Dubai by killing his mentor before he became a sleeper agent of Abstergo, his mind broken and rebuilt through intense behavioral conditioning because of the bombing of USS Cole on 12 October 2000 in Yemen by the Assassins.
