Raymond Andrew Winstone (born February 19, 1957) is an English television, stage, film, and voice-over actor with a career spanning five decades. Having worked with many prominent directors, including Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, he is perhaps best known for his "tough guy" roles (usually delivered in his distinctive London accent), beginning with that of Carlin in the 1979 film Scum, and Will Scarlet in the cult TV adventure series Robin of Sherwood. His film résumé includes Fool's Gold, Cold Mountain, King Arthur, The Proposition, The Departed, Beowulf, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Edge of Darkness. He is known for starring in very profane and violent films such as Nil By Mouth, Sexy Beast and 44 Inch Chest. He has also branched out into film production. After the events of The Avengers and the Wombles, Tobermory has become the superhero Wombat, along with his sidekicks Tomsk (Womble Wonder) and Wellington (Super Womble). The Wombles have exposed their existence to the world, and many of the avengers got married: John Steed and Emma Peel (now Steed), Cathy Gale (now Mother) and Mother Mother, Tara King (now Keel) and David Keel, Martin King and Venus Smith (now King). But nothing is over yet. The villains of last time (Cathy and Idaho) were only being controlled by a group of people who are trying to paint the world in their image. They are The Old Dickensian Empire, TODE for short, and they are attempting to kill off The Avengers by making them turn against each other, so that they are sure none of them will be a threat to TODE anymore. Little do Steed and Emma know that these people called LSFS, Gus, ESP and SCS are all actually their relatives.
