Longclaw was Aleena's old friend long before Robotnik. When the attack happened, Longclaw took Sonic in as her own adoptive son and raised him to be the hedgehog we know and love. SHe made a promise to Sonic's parents that she'd protect him. But after looking after him for 15 years, she'sbecome TOO protective to the point where she sees Sonic saving others as breaking that promise. But in the ending, she'll have to learn that the time has come to let Sonic grow up and forge his destiny.
