In the years after he returned home from war, Howard Douglas became just as remorseless a serial killer as his wife Pearl. After leaving Texas again to fight in Europe during World War II, Howard finds himself stuck hiding in a small abandoned village along with nine other soldiers from his unit, with their most senior member insisting they wait there for more of their allies to arrive. Howard’s brothers in arms slowly come to realize they’re in the presence of an evil just as dangerous as any of the Nazis they’re keeping watch for.
