Jeremy Strong (born December 25, 1978) is an American actor.ย Known for his intenseย method actingย style in roles across both stage and screen,ย he has receivedย various accolades, including aย Primetime Emmy Award, aย Tony Awardย and aย Golden Globe Award, and nominations for anย Academy Awardย andย BAFTA Award. In 2022, Strong was featured onย Time'sย list of theย 100 most influential people in the world.
A graduate ofย Yale University, Strong continued his acting studies at theย Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and theย Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. His first off-Broadway performance was as a distraught soldier in theย John Patrick Shanleyย playย Defianceย in 2006, with his Broadway debut being in the role ofย Richard Rich in the 2008 revival of theย Robert Boltย playย A Man for All Seasons. His film debut came that same year with the comedyย Humboldt County. He played minor roles in the 2012 filmsย Lincolnย andย Zero Dark Thirty before receiving early recognition forย Parklandย (2013) andย The Big Short (2015). Strong gained international recognition with his portrayal ofย Kendall Royย in theย HBO drama seriesย Successionย (2018โ2023), which won him theย Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Strong went on to feature in the filmsย The Gentlemenย (2019),ย The Trial of the Chicago 7ย (2020), andย Armageddon Timeย (2022). In 2024, he returned to Broadway to play a conscientious doctor in a small town in the revival of theย Henrik Ibsenย playย An Enemy of the People, where he earned aย Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.
