James D'Arcyย (bornย Simon Richard D'Arcy; 24 August 1975) is an English actor and film director. He is known for his portrayals ofย Howard Stark's butler,ย Edwin Jarvis, in theย Marvel Cinematic Universeย television seriesย Agent Carterย and the 2019 filmย Avengers: Endgame, and murder suspect Lee Ashworth in the second season of the ITV seriesย Broadchurch. D'Arcy also co-starred inย Christopher Nolan's war moviesย Dunkirk(2017) andย Oppenheimerย (2023). He wrote and directedย Made in Italyย (2020).
