Mark Richard Hamill (born September 25, 1951)Β is an American actor. He is best known for starring asΒ Luke SkywalkerΒ in theΒ Star Wars franchise and theΒ JokerΒ in various animatedΒ DC ComicsΒ projects, starting withΒ Batman: The Animated SeriesΒ in 1992.
Through the 1980s, Hamill distinguished himself from his Star Wars role by pursuing a Broadway theatre career, starring in productions ofΒ The Elephant Man,Β AmadeusΒ andΒ The Nerd. His other live-action film and television roles include Kenneth W. Dantley Jr. inΒ Corvette Summer (1978), Private Griff inΒ The Big Red OneΒ (1980), Crow inΒ Sushi GirlΒ (2012), Ted Mitchum inΒ Brigsby BearΒ (2017), andΒ Arthur PymΒ in theΒ Netflix miniseriesΒ The Fall of the House of UsherΒ (2023).
Hamill has also had a prolific career as a voice actor.
