William Mills IrwinΒ (born April 11, 1950)Β is an American actor, choreographer,Β clown,Β and comedian. He began as aΒ vaudeville-style stage performer and has been noted for his contribution to the renaissance of the American circus during the 1970s. He has made several appearances on film and television. He won aΒ for his role inΒ Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?Β He also worked as a choreographer on Broadway. He was nominated for theΒ Tony Award for Best ChoreographyΒ in 1989 forΒ Largely New York. He is also known asΒ Mr. NoodleΒ on theΒ Sesame StreetΒ segmentΒ Elmo's World, and he appeared in theΒ Sesame StreetΒ film shortΒ Does Air Move Things?Β He has regularly appeared as Dr. Peter Lindstrom onΒ Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and had a recurring role as "The Dick & Jane Killer" onΒ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. From 2017 to 2019, he appeared as Cary Loudermilk on theΒ FXΒ television seriesΒ Legion.
