Akiva Goldsmanย (born July 7, 1962) is an American filmmaker.
Goldsman's filmography as aย screenwriterย includesย The Client;ย Batman Foreverย and its sequelย Batman & Robin;ย I, Robot;ย I Am Legend;ย Cinderella Man; and numerous rewrites (some credited, some uncredited). He wrote over a dozen episodes for the science fiction television seriesย Fringe.
In 2002, Goldsman received theย Oscarย forย Best Adapted Screenplayย and theย Golden Globe Awardย forย Best Screenplayย for the 2001 filmย A Beautiful Mind, which also won theย Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2006, Goldsman re-teamed withย director Ron Howard of A Beautiful Mind to adaptย Dan Brown's novelย The Da Vinci Codeย for Howard'sย film. He also wrote the screenplay for its 2009 sequelย Angels & Demons.
Goldsman is also known for co-developing theย DC Comicsย TV seriesย Titansย and theย Paramount+ย seriesย Star Trek: Picard, a sequel toย Star Trek: The Next Generationย andย Star Trek: Nemesis. He is also the co-creator ofย Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a prequel toย Star Trek: The Original Series.
