Brian Theodore Tylerย (born May 8, 1972) is an American composer, conductor, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and musician best known for his film, television, and video game scores. In his 26-year career, Tyler has scored seven instalments of theย Fast & Furiousย franchise,ย Aliens vs Predator: Requiem,ย Rambo,ย Eagle Eye,ย The Expendables trilogy,ย Iron Man 3,ย Now You See Me,ย Avengers: Age of Ultronย alongsideย Danny Elfman,ย Crazy Rich Asiansย andย ย The Super Mario Bros. Movieย among others. He also composed and re-arranged the current fanfare of theย Universal Picturesย logo, composed initially byย Jerry Goldsmith, for Universal Pictures' 100th anniversary, which debuted withย The Loraxย (2012), and composed the 2013โ2016ย Marvel Studiosย logo, which debuted withย Thor: The Dark Worldย (2013), which he also composed the film's score. He composed theย NFL Sunday Countdown Themeย forย ESPN, theย Formula Oneย theme (also used inย Formula 2ย andย Formula 3), and the anthem for theย Esports World Cup. He is also behind the soundtracks of many television series, includingย Yellowstone,ย 1883, andย 1923, all with Breton Vivian. For his work as a film composer, he won theย IFMCA Awardsย 2014 Composer of the Year.
His composition for the filmย Last Callย earned him the first of three Emmy nominations, a gold record, and induction into the music branch of theย Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. As of November 2017, his films have grossed $12 billion worldwide, putting him in the top 10 highest-grossing film composers of all time.
