Margaret Constance "Maisie" Williamsย (born April 15, 1997) is an English actress. Williams made her acting debut in 2011 asย Arya Stark, a lead character in theย HBOย epicย medieval fantasy television seriesย Game of Thronesย (2011โ2019). She gained recognition and critical praise for her work on the show and received twoย Emmy Awardย nominations. Williams' other television appearances includeย Ashildrย in theย BBCย science fiction seriesย Doctor Whoย (2015), starring in the Britishย docudramaย television filmย Cyberbully (2015), and in the Britishย science-fictionย teenย thriller filmย iBoyย (2017). She played the central character in the comedy action drama miniseriesย Two Weeks to Liveย (2020) and portrayedย punk rockย iconย Jordanย inย Pistolย (2022), aย biopicย about theย Sex Pistols. Williams also voiced Cammie MacCloud in the American animated web seriesย Gen:Lockย (2019โ2021).
In 2014, she starred as Lydia in her first feature film, the coming-of-age mystery dramaย The Falling, for which she received critical acclaim and several awards. She co-starred in films such as the romanticย period-dramaย filmย Mary Shelleyย (2017), the animatedย prehistoricย sports comedy filmย Early Manย (2018), and the romanticย comedy-dramaย filmย Then Came Youย (2018). In 2018, she made her stage debut inย Lauren Gunderson's playย I and Youย at theย Hampstead Theatreย in London, to positive reviews. In 2020, she starred in the superhero horror filmย The New Mutantsย and theย psychological thriller The Owners.
In 2019, Williams jointly developed and launched the social media platform Daisie, a multi-media networking app designed to be an alternative means to help artists and creators (especially those who are trying to get started) in their careers.
