For the love of god please get rid of all these spam bots

If you guys see the main homepage of this website, you'll see in the recent stories section that it's flooded with spams promoting phone numbers and sh*t.

How come the mods/admins never took any actions ? These spammers are obviously bots, i did report them to the mods, but whenever one or two got taken down, two or more came in and then continue to spam the website.

These bots won't stop what they were doing and keep on spamming the site for the sake of it.

I really hope this gets noticed so that the admins/mods will somehow fix the website to prevent bots like these from entering, because it's just annoying how they endlessly spam the website all at once and other users' stories get bumped by these useless spams and it's getting to the point where this happens like everyday and everytime with no delay.

I just reported them to the admins and those accounts are gone, but how come they be able to came back again ?? And using the same username.

This is a proof that these accounts are actually bots, as they can somehow return after they got banned and even using the same username as before their old acc got banned.

Agreed, and it may be harsh in my opinion, but I think a switch to the Archive Of Our Own (AO3) method of having mods/admins approving accounts would be a way to prevent spammers on here. Either that method or they find another Captcha system from having the spammers on here.

Well, the good news is, it looks like the spams started to slow down. But i'm not expecting anything good, watch how these bots suddenly came back and the situation became much worse than before lol.

How many of these bots are there ? If this keeps happening then myCast is officially dead, with only a number of bot accounts populating the whole site with their useless spams that bumped other users' stories that are actually stories made for fancasting and not for promo scamming (i suspect that these bots were scammers trying to use this website as a domain for promoting their sh*t)

Fyi, i'm gonna keep updating this thread for as long as i can until those spammer bots are PERMANENTLY GONE FOR GOOD from this website.

The Airline Numbers spammers are back. Although i have reported to the admins/mods via Private Messages and Report an Error, it's only a matter of time until they got banned again (and potentially return once again to cause chaos in this website with their spamming spree)

Even though my ideas about registration may seem harsh, I also contacted them as well with them. But I think they will be a step in preventing spambots on here.

Hopefully, cuz these spambots almost made me insane. I know it ain't that easy to remove them, but really tho, more and more days passed, the more worse these spam bots could become.

UPDATE: the current known spammer bot account has made at least 70 spams on this website, almost reaching 80 and eventually hundreds. Please, admins/mods, do something about this. Sorry if i sound a bit rude and inpatient, but these bots just won't stop and keep spamming the website.

Although i'm not sure if i'm right or wrong, but i think that the admins and mods are currently working hard to kick these spambots out of the site permanently (these kind of spam bots aren't easy to remove i think, correct me if i'm wrong). Still unsure if they are fighting back against these bots or just doing nothing but banning these bots whenever they appear, which is kinda ineffective since these bots could come back anytime after being banned from what i've seen so far.

Thank you for letting us know about these posts. We are aware of the increase over the past few weeks. I would like to say that the likelihood that these accounts are bots is very slim. New users are made to verify their email address and go through a Captcha system. These are more than likely people involved in a group that are attempting to scam users on the site. It is true that we were manually moderating and deleting these accounts as they would appear to the best of our ability. Due to the accounts not being bots, there was no simple method of preventing their creation. I had a discussion with the main admin of the site and they worked to add a new system in place that should help prevent the creation and continuation of these spam accounts. Now, this is a new system that requires some manual work, so please be patient as we continue to build this out. Please do continue to inform us of any new spam accounts that do happen to bypass this system as the information will be very helpful in resolving the issue.

I have removed the accounts talking about Cashapp that were linked and will put measures in place to prevent this if they happen to return.

The idea proposed where the mods/admins would need to approve account creation may not be plausible in this case as there are many new accounts created each day and not very many mods that can look through them all.
