The Hero of Time Gets a Face
According to Collider, Sony's live-action Legend of Zelda film has offered the clearest look yet at its interpretation of Link, giving fans their most substantial preview of how the studio is bringing Hyrule's iconic hero to the big screen. The reveal has sent the internet into full speculation mode — and for good reason.
For a franchise with this level of devotion behind it, a first real look at Link isn't just a production update. It's a starting pistol. The conversation has immediately shifted from "will this work?" to "okay, so who plays everyone else?" Zelda, Ganon, Impa, and a sprawling supporting cast of Hyrulian characters are still very much open questions — and that's exactly the kind of casting puzzle the myCast community lives for.
What myCast Fans Are Already Saying
The myCast community has been dreaming up Hyrule's roster for a while now, and across three active fan-cast stories, some genuinely compelling choices have emerged.
On the Legend of Zelda story, Tom Holland leads the vote for Link with 3 votes — a choice that makes a certain kind of sense given his proven ability to carry action-adventure franchises while keeping that youthful, earnest energy Link demands. For the big villain slot, fans have tapped Idris Elba as Ganon, which honestly sells itself. Elsewhere in that cast, Maisie Williams gets the nod for Saria, Sadie Sink for Malon, and — in perhaps the most inspired left-field pick on the platform — Steve Buscemi as Dampé the gravekeeper. Chaotic? Sure. But also kind of perfect.
Over on the second Legend of Zelda story, which covers 17 roles, the fan vision gets more expansive and arguably more cinematic. Emilia Clarke picks up a vote for Zelda herself — a choice that carries real weight given her experience anchoring massive fantasy properties. as Impa is the kind of casting that makes you stop scrolling, and as Ganon brings a different but equally compelling energy to the role. The story also features as the Great Deku Tree, which — if you can hear that voice reading ancient prophecy to a young hero — you already know that works. as Robbie rounds out a cast that has real vision behind it.
