According to Mint, Diego Luna, Kathryn Hahn, and Milo Manheim have officially joined Disney's live-action adaptation of Tangled, adding serious star power to what's shaping up to be one of the studio's most anticipated reimaginings.
Why This Cast Has Everyone Talking
Disney's live-action pipeline has been a lightning rod for fan debate ever since the studio started adapting its animated classics, and Tangled is no exception. The 2010 original is genuinely beloved — it has one of the sharpest scripts, most charming leads, and best soundtracks in the Disney animated canon — so the pressure to get this one right is real. The addition of Luna, Hahn, and Manheim signals that Disney is leaning into character actors with genuine range rather than just chasing marquee names, which is an encouraging sign.
Still, the roles these three are playing haven't been officially confirmed, which means the conversation about who fills out the rest of the roster is wide open. Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Mother Gothel, the King and Queen — these are iconic parts, and fans have very strong opinions about who should inhabit them on screen.
What myCast Fans Are Already Saying
The myCast community has been dreaming up Tangled casts for a while now, and the fan picks across our stories make for a fascinating read. Over on the Tangled story with seven roles mapped out, the fan imagination is running wild in the best way. Robert Pattinson has drawn a vote for Flynn Rider — and honestly, the chaotic rogue energy he brought to The Batman suggests he could absolutely pull off Flynn's roguish charm with some unexpected depth underneath. Anya Taylor-Joy is a fan pick for Rapunzel, which makes a lot of sense given her ability to project both otherworldly innocence and fierce determination. That same story has fans lobbying for Eva Green as Mother Gothel, and if you close your eyes and imagine Green delivering Gothel's manipulative, velvet-gloved villainy... yeah, that tracks completely. There's even a vote for Dave Bautista as the Hook Hand Thug, which is the kind of inspired left-field choice that myCast was built for.
